Practical information

This page gathers some practical information for the participants.

Shuttle from Chambéry train station on Sunday, June 23

A shuttle bus will collect participants at Chambéry train station to the Clos des Capucins at 

• 15:00,
• 16:30,
• 18:00.

If you arrive after 18:00, send an email to attire@sciencesconf.org. We will try to arrange something but it is not guaranteed. You may have to get to the place by your own means (taxi: 50 euros approx. Contact TaxiChambéry +33 4 79 69 11 12 or Sebastien Favier +33 6 07 63 32 11).

Accommodations

All accommodations are single room, with a private bathroom. Sheets, towels and soap are available in the room. Smoking is forbidden.

Note that there is no laundry service in the Clos des Capucins. An automatic laundry is available in the Yenne village center (see map here, 4 min walk).

Please note also that silence is requested after 22:00.

Wifi

Wifi is available in the center and in the computer room.

Meals

All meals are included from Sunday's dinner to Saturday's lunch included. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 8:15 (Mon-Fri) and to 8:45 (Sat). Lunch is served at 12:30 (Mon-Fri) and at 11:30 (Sat). Dinner is served at 19:30 (Sun-Fri). 

The "Gala Dinner" will be held on Wednesday night, after the group outing. We should be back from the group outing in the Clos des Capucins at 18:30. Departure to the Gala Dinner will be at 19:30. No evening meal will be available at the Clos des Capucins on Wednesday evening.  The cost of the Gala Dinner is already included in your registration fees. More information will be provided on Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Group outing

Surprise. Don't forget your towel and bathing suit and/or walking shoes. More information will be provided on Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Drinks

During office hours, drinks can be ordered at the Reception. Note that this cannot be charged on your room. So you will need some cash to pay as you order. 

After dinner : le Collombier ! This is the place where we can all meet after dinner to share a drink. It is run by the ATTIRE organization (not by the Clos des Capucins). The Collombier will close no later than 23:00. More information will be provided on Sunday evening or Monday morning. 

During lectures, tap water will be supplied. Each participant will be given a re-usable plastic cup. Do not lose it!

Of course, coffee/tea and snacks will be provided during breaks.

Computer labs

If you opted for the computer labs, you will need to bring your own laptop with power supply. We will provide extension cords in the computer room. If you are coming from outside Europe, don't forget to bring a suitable electrical adapter so that you can plug your charger into the European electrical outlets.

You should have received an email from Simon Rit with installation instructions and prerequisites. Please read it carefully and complete the installation steps.

Saturday

Rooms must be cleared after breakfast. We will make arrangements for where your luggage can be stored during the Saturday morning program.

A quick lunch will be served from 11:30.

A bus will take all the participants to Chambéry train station. Departure from the Clos des Capucins: no later than 14:00.
